Bonnet Skin removal?!

My bonnet has a few dents and loads of stone chips so i was thinking about chopping the second skin from the bonnet.
I remember Foxy did it to his Mk1 but has anybody done it to their 1*2 bonnet?

Will it be strong enough with just the outer skin? Is it actually worth it? And will it still be ok to fit the Oval Bonnet clips/lock?

(cant afford a CF bonnet)

No doubt foxy didn't do it to his nice 182 bonnet!

whiteley has just done it to his mk1 too. Not heard of it being done to a ph2 but interested cos i was going to do mine too.
