Bonnet soundproofing

As its too hot to wash the car Im thinking about taking the carpet stuff off the underside of the bonnet instead. Anyone else done it? Does it make the car rattle/a bit louder? Must save a couple of kgs.

CupCake did this on his Cup, IIRC he said it was a piece of piss to remove.

Its hardly a project for a full afternoon....while your there you should bin the back seats and carpet too just to even things out a little?
