Bonnet Spacers?

  Clio 172
Not sure if thats right terminology but i want my bonnet raising and just wondered if anyone has pics of theirs. Also are there special parts or is it just washers? How hard is it to do and what are the best to use?

Cheers Ben

are you on about raising it at the top by the screen or at the bottom by the fron bumper? if by the bumper then on the inside of the bonnet their should be two rubber bungtype things. you can twist these to adjust the hight at this point.

can i just ask about why you would want to do this. Im not critising your decision its just that iv never heard anyone doing this before. i have often looked at pictures of cars with (maybe bonnet spacers) and thought ...oooh thats a very ill fitted bonnet. :S

The theory behind it's to create a back pressure to remove heat from the bay.
But many people say that it doesn't make any difference whatsoever, and just makes it look like you've been in a front ender.

definately a Jap style thing to do....

more seen on a drift car to make engine run cooler.

All they are is blocks roughly a inch thick iirc which go between the hinge and the bonnet to give the raised look.

Popular with RS Turbo's to ease under bonnet temps
