You can make the floor in three sections with the middle section having the amp mounted to it. The 2 sides then have ledges for the middle one to be supported on when the section is down. Make the side pieces contoured to the boot sides and cover in carpet. This also fills in any gaps rather well. I used black acoustic felt/carpet. The thicker the pile the less precise you have to be in your cutting.
I used 1.5cm x 3 cm beech to make the supports glued and screwed to .5 cm MDF. Ply wood was used to create a frame for the perspex to rest on.
It only makes any sound when there is nothing in the boot and you hit a big pot hole. Ill eventually get round this be dyna matting the floor and maybe using some underlay to deaden any noise, but to be honest the noise is minimal
