boot of goodies!

got some new goodies for my trackday at croft.

above is my avanti transmisson, jsut got it back from avanti/benr!

avanti dog gears, levers, rods and bearings in JC5 case
avanti MAXI LSD, bolt on crown wheel with intechangable final drives, shorter by 14% ATM
air cooled oil (setrab or mocal), pumped by mocal external pump

also got a new engine to go with it before i fit the SC (mental note, must get car to AWT)

engine spec is


AWT Bowl port and polish (mild headword)
AWT GrpN CAt 420 cams
AWT re built head with new steam seals, guides and valves
AWT fitted a new head gasket, studs, seals etc
AWT fitted a new cambelt (kit)
AWT fitted a full new aux setup
New end caps, cam studs
AWT matched inlets (rs lower)
182 exhaust manifold and link pipe for 172

had to order this to match my 172 exhaust up

also got 8 dunlop slicks, 4 mitch and 4 avons (thanks to doug! - top man)

these came today too (stud conversion kit) should make it less hastle to swap the wheels!

just waiting on my engine and gear oil from oppie (top guys too!) and im set to go!

the engine is going in tonight, will get a vid up asap! again LOL

not much progress last night.

first up was to change the box's over, removed the old on in about 30mins which wasn't too bad! But the avanti came with no selctor mech link, no cable brace, reverse sensor, i also had to block off the oil pump -8 fittings.....the above should not of taken more than a hour at most! but the bloody selector link was a right f**king b**ch to fit! Getting the grease covers backon was HELL!

anyway, re fitted the new box with a new release bearing!

Which bit? There is a funny section on them that makes them look bent.


lol hes joking, some come with a dint in to clear the arb. this one doesnt!

I am sure they "shouldnt" have the dint.. but still it makes this one 10x more special as it hasnt got one surely?

I was thinking, it could be a common place for them to get dented when involved in an accident?

All this rubbish about Bens trick transmission... its just a 1.2 gearbox with a black diamond clutch!
