Bottom End

[White Valver]

The piston rings are worn on my valver so i need to replace the bottom end..... would like to get more power from it so was wondering what u guys suggest i do.......

Should i get a williams bottom end???
Get a 2.0 Laguna bottom end???
Or......How much work is involved to drop in a 172 engine in???

Does anyone know where can get any of this stuff??

Its the Megan bottom end you want or a Williams one but the Megans usually cheaper.
have a check oon the for sale section here ot a breakers yard they usually have the right megan type 2.0 engine.
172 engine is a lot of work need custom mounts to make the boom ft or you need throttle bodies to make it fit under the bonnet.
If moneys stight get a second hand 1.8 engine for £250 and drop it in for the time being.

£250 to £350 depends where you are and what there like and if they know why you want one.
Then say £250~350 to take the engine out and stick the 2.0 bottom end on and say another £300 in parts as you might as well chnage clutch seals etc when the engine out as its much easier.
Then £50 for a chip to take account of the extra fueling you cannot use full williams maps as the Williams has a better head on it.

the megane has the better head out of all of them, but you need to get it machined to take a dizzy.

The megane produces 150bhp with milder cams than the williams. hence the most common mod is putting valver cams in them.

Yeah, I was gonna suggest winston - think his is a 2.0 megane bottom end.

Under 200quid.

In fact you'll get a complete megane engine for under that if you hunt about...then you can sell the head to recoup costs. It's only in clioland that prices go silly for them!
