FFS Chris!!
You should have had it de-catted.
looks like a car for the physically inept
Only thing that pissed me off was the indicators on the wrong side of the steering wheel!
Not yet, alloys were a bargain so that's this months purchase. Whitelines next, the induction kit is a looooong way off though, have you seen how much that thing costs?!
different little cars, i have seen a black and orange one round combe a few times and it seems to go well, hope to see this out on track soon Chris?
I like them very much...
as a bonus (well, some might disagree), they came with this...
Loads of relatively new car for very little money, thrilled to bits with it. Drove from Stoke back to Wiltshire today, MWay munching was way better than expected, but when I finally got off the M4 and came down through the lanes it was an absolute blast, I'm still grinning about it now.
Pulls much, much better than the 8.9sec to 60 suggests, brakes are comically over-specced (for homologation purposes, I presume) for a car weighing well into the right side of 1000kg. I'm not a 'top speed' kind of a guy, all my fun comes in the 40-60 range around the fantastic roads we have here, and so far it's delivering in spades, far too early to say, but feels like it's one of those cars that will even make the daily commute quite enjoyable.
Pics are as I got home, so nothing touched yet. Tomorrow the flaps are coming off, tidying up a few bits and pieces (reattaching number plates, a few touch ups etc), shortening the aerial, removing the audio install and stripping the rear out and installing a net for the more practical moments.
Long term (holiday is next on the agenda) the plans are fairly modest, whiteline anti roll bar, H&Rs, another set of OEM wheels (and the current ones off for a refurb, possibly grey, undecided yet), all good fun. Anything above that gets staggeringly expensive, all the good parts are Suzuki Motorsport items for the rally cars, and as there are so few cars in the UK it's all import from Japan.
I couldn't leave this post without mentioning the looks, lets just say you quickly develop a thick skin owning one of these. As the other half said though, once you're in it you forget what the outside looks like because it's so fun being in it (and trust me, she hates the look of it).
Chris, have you thought about going stealth and getting the wheels done in black?
I would say to try some wider wheels on it before buying new OE wheels, again it makes a noticable difference in stability imo it made it a proper back road toy when I had mine sorted.
fair enough, for £130 you cant complain really. I had got mine sideways a fair few times on the skinny tyres so when I had wider wheels on it just worked a lot better for me. The rear seats folded down the amount of stuff you can chuck in one is amazing for such a small car, but yeah you can feel the difference with a bit of weight in them. Have you got the ARBs on it yet? If not, it'll be a bit more alive on the skinny wheels, you'll have a blastWent with some more OEMs in the end, found an ex Ignis Rally driver who had a set in waaaaay better condition than mine, 5 wheels, 2 with P6000s with 75% tread left, £130, bargain!
I don't want to dampen the entertainment, skinny tyres = good fun. Not as planted, sure, but considering I like my fun below 70 it keeps it enjoyable.
Also gave me a chance to carry out the load carrying abilities, surprisingly good and the car felt much different with weight in the back, can certainly tell it's a light car as a reasonably small load made a fair bit of difference...
