bPowerflow Stealth Exhaust.

  Monaco Blue 172
As some may know I dont have a back box at the minute, priced up a new 172 system from renault at £282 with 3 years guarantee. Rang powerflow and they offered a stainless steel system with lifetime guarantee for £260. Good deal me thinks. So a quiet stealth system it is on Tuesday.....still wondering whether I should have asked for a bit of a purr or even a circular 2.5" tailpipe sunk into the rear bumper! Opinions????

Im worlds away from Cardiff though! And I have no back box! If you have any quick/cheap solutions let me know!

I'd just get the GDI stealth one, depends how far from Cambridge you are, but I regularly make the 300+ mile round trip... even if it's just a service or MOT or whatever lol

I had a stealth powerflow when i had my 172 . Couldn't have been happier . They guys at Burnley were spot on . They also tried on various back boxes until i picked the sound i liked :)

how you can slate Powerflow and then recommend GDi is beyond me. But then i guess you have not tried Powerflow yourself, and i have not actually had any work done at GDi, both because we has just listened to one or two bad comments and joined the CS flow which seems all too common.

to be fair.jesus has had a poerflow exhaust fitted, albeit 2nd hand.

but i still stand by my statement, better off wi piper than gdi.cheaper, same design almost, made by same company, but then id still go with powerflow than piper, burnley outlt is s**t hot.

not the same system though john. i agree though some powerflow outlets are very good, it does depend heavily on the guy making it.... when charlie who now runs prospeed worked for topgear powerflow in st. albans their systems were excellent.

however if they are using the bending machine, the bends wont be mandrel... unless they buy in the bends (like alot of these guys do now)

iv had burnley powerflow fit the zorst to my valver...bout 7 years ago...until the guy who bought it off me wrapped it up 2 years ago, was still all good on the zorst front. was also one of the quickest valvers around at the time, on these very forums...albeit RSC then.

the one on the williams 0159 has been fitted for 5 years now..never had any trouble with it , or powerflow, and theres not many that are as quick out there with same, often more mods. this is on 3 diff engines also btw, so not a 'freak' lump.

williams 0051 will be going there for a system soon.

chris n nics cup went there.probably the quickest cup around for quite a long time

monkeys williams went there, which took the 1/4 time record off mine.with same mods.

results speak volumes.

whether its bent with mandrel or not...they work better than most in terms of on road speed.

I'm talking from experience, I've had 2 powerflow system... unlike the rest of the sheep on here I actually try things out before talking a load of s**t... something a few other people could do with trying

If you've had 2 powerflow systems , you must have liked the first one to buy a second one ??

I think it's all down to the outlet you get your system from and how good the guys are . I've seen loads of posts slating powerflow . But my experience of them is a good one , well built exhaust , only took 90 mins and was cheap . So i'd definitely consider a poweflow system again .

John

kinda missed the point of my post didnt you... was actually saying they can be pretty good.

unless there is something wrong with the exhaust, its not really going to be a problem which one... for the road its more about the right sound and build quality

  williams and trophy
yeah you were saying 1 outlet was good.until the guy left.

im saying 1 outlet is good.and the build quality imo is 2nd to none, i mean the valver zorst lasted 7 years+ the williams has done 5 years so far.not 1 single problem with either..now thats fit and forget build quality...the best kind.

poor build quality results in problems......in the case of exhausts usually within the first couple or three years due to s**t welds etc.

think you missed the point of my post...

  ITB'd Ph1 172
that was just an example... its not Powerflow that is the problem that was the point really.

my old 5 gtt had a powerflow on it for 10 yrs! still on infact.

was simply commenting on my experience of the powerflow dealer i used to use 10 yrs ago... when charlie worked there.

M

mini-valver

Space cakes for convincing people that there system is'nt a £50 mark up on a Piper ;)

well i love my GDI system, its worth 100% the money i paid, that and the fact that i know 100% if i need advice on anything or help then GDI are only a call away and willing to bend over backwards

  williams and trophy
300 miles tho.....fuk that.....could have a few oz instead of the juice itd cost me to get there
