Brake Bias thing

  S2000
I've just lowered my Clio (almost finsihed) but just wanted to check about the rear brake bias thing. Is it really necessary to adjust this or should it be OK. I'll probably test it out on some empty roads to see what happend under really hard braking.

If you do need to adjust it, ho wdo you do it and how do you know how much to adjust it by?

Thanks.

As far as i know you need to know what your doing altering the brake bias valve , not your typical diy job . If its braking ok i'd leave it alone .

I don't know how they are set up , but i would imagine it would have to be on the rollers .

You need to ajdust the brake bias if you lower the car and it doens't have ABS.

Look under the back of the car on the rear axle you'll see a sensor linking to the brakes what happens is when the back of the car is lower with sotkc suspension the rears don't work much however when you've a load of weight in with normal suspension the back is lower and the sensor lets more pressure to the back brakes as its ok however when you lower the car the sensor thinks the back loaded up wight wise and more braking is done on the rear which leads to problmes.
Easy way it to back off the compensator (sensor) using the threaded bar until. its as loose if not looser than it was when the car was at normla ride height. You don't want to have the back coming round on you when you brakes in a not perfectly stright lien so best back off more and have the back brakes usless than have them work more than its safe to do so.

So basically its guesswork , a bit of trial n error ?
Sort of yep just see what its like before and put it back to how it was tightness wise.
Mine been overly loosened and the back brakes do nothing of any significance now (track work barly get rid of the rust on the disks). Howver its better than being overly done.

I've had a bit of a drive now and TBH I quite like the way the brakes are set up. Previously it actually felt like there was a bit much braking from the front and in the wet you always has to be carefull it didn't lock up, but now it all feels a bit more balanced.

Ok cheers .

If you wanted it set up more accurately , could it be done on the rollers like they use for your MOT brake test ?
