brake contactor error

  Clio 172 ph2
Hi ,
I`m getting on DDT2000 the "Capteur du frein" error . If i try to delete it , sometimes it deletes , sometimes I have to press the brake pedal to get it deleted . The brake lights are working when the pedal is pressed so the contactor works .Any ideea why the error ?
Should something else cause that error ? It doesn`t bother me that much, but I want to install cruise control ,and as far as I know the brake contactor will set it off if not working .

and because that error wasn`t enough , some other ones came along .
Since today sometimes on hard accelerations the ESP+ SERV + ABS light will come off . On the code reader I got DF066 -- NO INJECTION MULTIPLEX SIGNAL .
Take the ignition off , on again ... it disapears .
Yesterday when I read the error codes again I was getting the "Capteur vitesse vehicule" + all the others before... once again...deleted them ... everything back to normal ,they didn`t appear again ,also got the FUEL LED on the dash. Today ...started the car , the idle was at 3500 rpm ,like a launch control :)) limp mode icon on dashboard + ABS like a Christmas tree .Took the ignition 3-4 times on and off ... the problem dissapeared .
Read the error codes , besides all those, I`ve got the
Capteur position papillon
Commande papillon motorise .
Clear them all , all errors gone . Should I remove the battery cable that goes near the other sensors ? Because I don`t believe 5-6 sensors are dying and everytime I clear the errors they are ok .

Be VERY carefull using DDT as its not as good as you might think!
  1. It is a restricted piece of software for which I'm certain you don't have an agreement to use Legally).
  2. Its output isn't in any ODBII format so the codes are non-generic and so are the descriptions (Which are also in French so require translating which can allow errors in diagnosing).
I've seen some people use it before on, for example, a Clio II 1.2 16v with a misfire and it reported "Injector Control 3" as the cause so the garage replaced the injector on cylinder 3... turns out what DDT calls an "Commande Injecteur 3" is actually an ignition coil driver and the coil pack needed replacing.

What problem are you getting as "Brake Sensor" is a little vague? I'm guessing its just ESP being disabled as DF066 has nothing to do with the ABS setup and means there is a fault on the Injection to ABS computer coms line so it is most likely gonna be a Can-Bus coms issue rather than a sensor itself... do you have a network analyser?

Thanks for your reply .
I plugged the DDTon it to checkout the errors ,and make an ideea of what is happening . The brake pedal sensor was showing since I bought the car , delete the error , sometimes comes back sometimes doesn`t . That is the first error from the list of many .The DDT gives back error in HEX wich you have a corespondent to the CLIP error codes, for example the DF066 in DDT is 50E2 .
The brake contactor error is a "Capteur pedale de frein" or something like that error , if I delete it dissapears .If I read the errors again , it is gone. I don`t have a network analyser , no ideea what it is or where can I carry on a test or with what or what does it do.I know the CLIP knows CAN protocol ,will that be ok ? When the ESP gets disabled , I get the 50E2 error wich corresponds to the DF066 on the CLIP faults .

Orderer a RStuner , will see what codes will get from it .
On hard accelerations the ESP turns off ,the SERV + ESP + ABS appear on the dash .Turn the key off , on again problem dissapears, and sometimes got the EMPTY tank led on the dash .
If i try a hard acceleration with the ESP off from 3000 rpm , the car goes near rev change, and then getting the SERV+ ESP + ABS lights, or sometimes the limp mode light ,car is getting lumpy , hearing some missfires from the front of the car .
That was the problem on the ABS , ESP .
Today was getting worst .
Started the car , after 10 sec entered limpmode , 2000 rpm ,no acceleration control.
On/off a few times ,nothing . After 100-200 m , check engine appeared . On and off ... the car ,limp mode off , check engine on . Plugged in the code reader , limp mode caused by throttle pedal + throttle body , check engine by "capteur du vitesse" . Does the ph2 have a speed sensor on te gearbox? I thought the speed is read from the ABS .
Sometimes, after hard accelerations when decelarating , the engine turns off ...lumpy idle, etc
The problem is that here aren`t reno specialists in electronics, and the only way to get it fixed is to comunicate here on the forum and try different things that you suggest .

Unless it is a Cup model then the speed is read from the ABS so a CanBus connection error between the injection and ABS modules is the most likely cause of the DF066. Unfortunately, unless there's an obvious problem with the wiring that you can see with your eyes you are going to need diagnostics that can test the cars network to see what's breaking down and where.

A Clip does have the ability to look at the network yes but will they know what they're doing with the results? I can't say for sure but you'd like to think yes.

If I were you, for the time it is going to taker i'd be looking at the looms paying close attention to the multiplugs for signs of water ingress, corrosion and damage such as trapped or crushed wiring before sending the car anywhere near a main dealer.
