brake ducting trumpets

Has anyone fitted the Prima-racing brake cooling ducting trumpets and CAF?

I have got mine through and tried fitting it, but the trumpets dont seem a snug fit and was wondering how other people had held them in place.

Any help would be great, cheers

Are these the same as the brake ducts fitted to the clio cup race cars?

If so you have to cut away a large amount if the mounting clips for the fog lights to fit the ducts, and then bolt/ rivet them in place. Even on the cup racers they never look a good fit, with big gaps either side.

Cheers danny, that was my bros idea too. Will get some pics up if I have no joy later.

Peperami, not sure if they are the same ones they fit to the cup racers, I dont think they are mind, they have no atatchment clips or anything, they are just trumpets. They look like they will fit okay, with no gaps, but there is not a lot of contact are between the bumper and the trumpet for me to bond them.

I think some foam in lip around the trumpet might work, them bond that too the bumper. Not sure really.

Do they look like this?

Oh i see. Theyre not made to fit the clio, or specifically for brakes, so will just be a case of getting them on any way you can mate. You can easily remove the black part of the fog surrounds to fit them then clip it back into place, you migth find it easier with front bumper removed though. Good luck :)

Do they fit in the holes quite well, I think the hole is 70mm on the Ph2 fog's isn't it?

If it is, silicon sealant round the back of it will probably do the job :)

yeah they fit in the hole well, its just that there is not a lot of cantact area to bond them or anything. I do have a plan however, expanding foam. going to tape them inplace, turn them over and fill the back in with expanding foam. Hopefully this will work, pics will follow.

FFS just take all the fog light covers out and fasten a bit of aluminium to the back of the caliper... sorted

putting cones and or ducting is just going to decrease the volume of airflow :(

Not compared to having fog lights in it won't, and I still want it to look ok, not like some theiving little s**t has nicked my fog lights.

you cut the plastic out behind the foglight covers ;)

and do away with arch liners

All done now, expanding foam worked a treat.

Before I get flamed, I don't expect them to be the best brake ducts in the world, I did it because I was fed up of cracked fog lights, and the fact that I never use fog lights at all (its never foggy enough in Norwich). I just thought these would help a little and look better than cracked glass on the front of my car.

C&C welcome

one of mine was misted up too, did my head in. They will only get cracked again, especially when I do Marham trackday as the stone chips are silly.
