I'll list as much relevant information as possible so I apologise if this seems long winded.
Yesterday I drove through floodwater, no problems with brakes after. This morning when I left the house the handbrake 'stuck' slightly as I moved off but freed straight away.
Came out of work today, stopped at a junction, pulled the handbrake and the lever hit the ceiling. Great, handbrake snapped (I thought at the time). I drove a little way at low speed (quiet, empty, flat road) to see whether I was getting any handbrake effort at all, and was getting some, but nowhere near normal. Tried the footbrake next, and the pedal travels further downward than before, quite spongy. Overall braking effort was reduced and the rear left was locking, so it seems there is no braking effort to the back right wheel. I performed several test stops, checked for signs of leaking brake fluid and checked reservoir level. No fluid was leaking and reservoir was still full.
I decided that the condition of the brakes wasn't deteriorating so I decided it was safe to limp the car home. No change in pedal travel or braking effort occurred during the drive home.
Left the car in gear, pumped the brakes 50 bazillion times and checked for fluid leaking again. No change. I killed the engine and jacked up each back wheel in turn. Handbrake held well on rear left, wheel turns smoothly. Rear right, no handbrake effort and the wheel is stiff to move with the handbrake off. I didn't have anyone with me to test the footbrake but judging from the stop tests earlier I'd say it would still turn with the footbrake applied.
I'm guessing that some serious s**t has gone down with the rear right drum, would this be a correct guess?
