Brake Switch Info Needed Please

when i'm driving the 182, so i pull over turn the clio off/on again and the lights are off,

so i'm going to try and have a fiddle with the brake pedal switch, i know there is a guide
on here, but i'm not to sure if i have to keep the brake pedal pressed down all the time,

wedge the pedal down, take the switch out , alter it(the switch) and the replace it, and only then let the pedal back up,

can somebody please spell it out , what i have to do 100%

You need to push the pedal down, rotate the switch to pull it out, then adjust 'plunger'. Push the pedal back down put the switch back in iirc

That's spot on, i did mine the other day. Very simple

mine is doing this, replaced the brake switch this morning and still the same problem, no Cruise control but speed limiter works???

Update: all working again now, plunger needed to go in one more click. What a strange quirk that the little switch has such an effect on other things.

It's because it's a two circuit switch and is linked to (obviously) the brake light circuit but also directly to the ECU and ABS as these need to know the status of the brake pedal.

My TC warning has recently started to come on but only after driving for a bit and then only I'm exceeding what seems to be about 50 or 60 mph. It goes off again on the next start and won't come on unless the previous conditions are met.

Now I recently adjusted my brake light switch as the lights were coming on too late. I prefer them to illuminate as soon as I apply any pressure to the brake pedal, and they needed about 1 - 2 cm prior to adjusting the switch. I was pleasantly surprised to see such a simple adjustment but now I'm not so sure after reading this can affect other systems.

Is there anything I've missed by removing the switch, adjusting the plunger and simply putting it back - could this be the cause of the TC warning light and cruise control not working?

A 182 FF by the way - and the best toy I've ever owned. Any hints appreciated.
