i've got a megane trophy and they have brembo brakes and drilled discs and they shed loads of brake dust... quite shocking really... is it something that grooved/drilled discs do??
is it true that although you have got grooved or drilled discs then you loose braking power in normal circumstances as there is less area on the disc being touched?
no discs have nothing to do with the amount of brake dust generated, as far as i am aware anyway. the only factors to take into consideration are; brake caliper force i.e 2/4/6/8 pots, brake pad composite (fast road pads, normal) and how hard you are slamming on.
in answer to the brake area point, i suppose in theory you do lose a small amount of area but i suppose that this is balanced off against possible brake fade by the brake discs and calipers getting too hot?
yeah thats what i meant by normal circumstances, obviously a tracked car will benefit from grooved/drilled discs... yours look wicked matey... lovely car too
lol... only as a toy... see what i could do with it... do they have alot of scope for modding? i like upgrading things though rather than modding... i like changing brakes (like you) and tyres and zausts and lights... suppose it is modding, but not like stoopid kits etc
