Brakes making a weird noise!

After the crushing England Wales defeat yesterday I had to nip down the A42 from L'boro to Brum for a ski race (only took 35min hehe).

Anyway, I was doing alot of high speed braking and although my brakes didnt appear to feel any less powerfull they were making some strange noises. Not grinding, but the kind of noise that your tyres make when you stray onto the rumble strips at the side of the motorway (only a much quieter version of that noise!). Now my brakes were new in June, and they are Brembo Max discs and pagid fast road pads.

What is that noise? Didnt sound that bad, just a bit worrying.

They maybe rattling round you need to take them off and chekc them and stick some copper grease on them.

Maybe, but they sat quite nice and snug when I fitted them, and I did put a fair bit of copper grease on them!

I remember going in my mates car, who also had grooved disks and from highspeed they always made the same kind of noise, and he said it was just what grooved discs do when they are working hard.

Groved disks are a waste of time IMO. The pad is catching on the lip of the disk and rattleing about.

Also copper grease dissapears over time.

Well thats not what brembo seem to think! lol

It does dissapear, but I changed them at about 22k, and there was still plenty of it left on the hub from when the car was new.

So the rattling noise is inherrent of the disk then? Thats ok, i supose LOL

ive got a similiar kind of noice from my car, didnt know wot it was but guessin its my breaks now. Ive got standard disks at the front and drums at the back. I heard it makes that noice when uve got dirt on the disks, does ures make the noise jus when breaking or randomly?
