breaking in procedures...

i know the first service interval is 12000 miles and then so on, but do you have to have an early service after a couple of thousand miles, or is that some urban myth that I must have heard somewhere,,,,,

I had an oil and filter change at 5k just to be on the safe side. There is no scheduled service before 12k.

There is no service in the schedule until 12k miles or 2 years and its the same for other new cars as they dont need to anymore.

Manufacturing tolerances are much better and designs are such that these days it aint neccessary.

Some people do change it early though for peace of mind...

Youre supposed to get a free health check at about 6k miles. Dont have to get it though. This was for my 1.2 anyway..

Mines going in next week for an oil & Filter. 6000 miles.

Only gonna cost £40 through a Reno Minute centre.
B4stards charged me £78 for an oil and filter change.

My other halfs DCI gets a free check up every 2-4 weeks  good old Reno build quality.

At least they wash it and vac it out each time. (Saves me a job:D)

Thanks. Its actually booked in for the 16th of October. But I think whatever it was that was rattling fell off part way up the 1/4 mile at Santa Pod on Sunday. I just want them to put there head under the car and make sure all important components are present and correct.
