Bridging an xbox connection?!?!?!

Having recently bought a new telly I have moved the old set to another room and stuck the xbox underneath it. Running an ethernet cable to other room isn't especially practical so...

Before I spunk £50 on one of those wifi adapter thingies I have read I can connect my xbox via an ethernet cable to my laptop and run it off the laptops wifi?? Incidentally its a half decent laptop with a fast wifi card and its fine for PC online gaming in wireless.

Will this work?

I tried this years ago (when the 360 first came out), and from what I remember it was a total ball ache and didn't work properly. I ended up just buying the wifi adaptor. A lot easier.

Sorry I'm not much more help.
