hi people -the story is im with bt broadband which is option3 costing 23 quid per month which looking back was a big mistake it is absolute shite! when i load it up i could probably cook a full english breakfast twice and still have time to wash it down with a nice pot of tea! -it is so slow ,so i guess im paying my money and not getting my expected 8 meg speed-so using logic its basically a rip off!-now i realise im gonna have to pay as compensation,the rest of my contract in money[they can have it ,good riddance!]-but the big question is who do i choose as a replacement-telewest[now virgin]was great when i had it previously to bt,thinking back now it was so quick-would they be good to go back too? your thoughts and suggestions are very welcome!

this will tell you what you can get http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php it use to give an estimate of speed the only thing you line may not get the full 8mb which is why they branded upto 8mb subject to distence from exchange an quality of phoneline so as long as yoou get anything between 1-8mb they covered i was with bt when i got my package i got 5mb it droped to 4mb if you want fast downloads cable is the only way to get decent speeds
