BT - Grrrrrrr

  Golf Mk6 Oil Burner
We spend around £10,000 a year with BT on line rental and call charges etc at work.

They have overcharged us £180 on a recent job because it was classed as 'Complex'. I believe the engineer was at fault because for a start it took him an hour to cable it up and then realised he had to run the cable from somewhere else instead. So an analogue line for another ADSL connection has just cost £280! Spoke to our account manager to waive the fee and he said it stands ?!

Director has told me to move EVERYTHING from BT now to another supplier. Told our BT account manager and had no response ?

P*ss poor if you ask me !

Rant over !

We ended up in a sticky situation during an office move a few years back and BT were shite, total shite. Easynet promised things they couldn't deliver and their bad reputation speaks for itself these days.

Colt on the other hand came in with a days notice and dropped in leased line with no problems at all. They are well priced too, and support is good. We've been with them for over 3 years now with no down time at all, other than a couple of planned ones at weekends.

We've just upped the circuit to 16mb. Not bad for an office of 60 staff.

Uunet did that to us with a leased line, then wanted payment. We weren't even using it, and had no idea it was even active.

We used to use BT for our leased lines after we moved from ISDN. When we left them they just left all the old routers and the old phone exchange in the office. We kept it for years then eventually dumped it all in a skip. And they wonder why they are in financial trouble!!

Sometimes BT are very good and i will admit that. The problem is that they are either very good or very very bad.

I'm gobsmacked that they havent even come back to me, a customer for 5 years and never missed a payment. I know 10k probably isnt very much to them as a business account but i know of a few telecoms suppliers who will rip my arm off for that business.
