Yesterday was the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds of the BTCC weekend. Along with my unglamourous hungover assistant Naith we headed over to Donington. The last time I was here was when Naith tracked in 2009 here, he's always said its the best UK circuit and maybe because of age and the fact I never really got around it last time I couldnt really understand the hype. All that changed yesterday, Donington as a circuit is breathtaking, watching cars launch into Craner curves and squiggle before the old hairpin sends shivers up your hair as a spectator, being a driver must be outrageous.

Bar the back end of the circuit before the Dunlop straight I made an effort to shoot everywhere and try some different shots, kind of hard day if I'm honest, as I wanted to watch the fantastic battles in every series but was busy snapping.

The negative from the day are the state of Donington, its a mess, the F1 debacle has really messed it up, it 'could' be visually out of this world, knock the tat down and give the place some pride if you will. Its something I need to sort out as I cant really blame anyone else but the sheer amount of Media folk there using cameras equal to a £6 snap and develop was depressing. How certain folk get accreditation is an pisstake, there was ALOT of 'big guns' there too so to speak which helped as you get to see what they watch for, where they stand and how they act.

Also met up with ‘dunganik’ whose photos are always a pleasure to see, so swapping ideas with him was great. The racing was fantastic all day, obviously the Chinese GP was abit lively yesterday but week in, week out I can’t think of another series that provides the all the goods like the BTCC weekend.

Thanks to Dunlop for the Hospitality and Alex curtis for the mars bar I stole from his bag.

Now I really need to update my kit and lenses!!!

No mate, Ive spoke to a few people about it but there hard to get your hands on, wish i did!

It annoys me if i'm honest as some of they guys sporting the 'Media' vest didn't even look interested in taking the photos plus some of there kit didn't look up to the job.

Yeah references etc images posted in motorsport magazines. I'm going to have a good look into it this week and see if i can get somewhere!

Pictures look epic as always mate Think I saw you guys in the pit lane when I was wondering around but it was years since I met Naith at Britcar so couldn't be certain and didn't want to look like a tit lol!

I have tried to vote for you and did the 'human' test which I have answered correctly but says i'm wrong :S Anyone else having issues with it?

Edit: Ignore that last bit, opened it with firefox and was fine just safari it didn't work with Voted!

I hate donington for photography - there's nowhere other than inside corner 1 that you can take shots without a giant metal fence in the way

I used a Canon 5Dmk2

Kit lens 24-105

and for the pans a s**tty 70-300

Also used Jamesbryans lens of here for some pit images cant remember what it was though

Really need some longer faster glass but its very expensive!
