I'm wanting to buy a buffer to give my car a proper detail, any suggestions as to what sort of and general price i should be paying for 1.

Most people are probably having dinner at the mo mate. Have a search, there's been a few threads on this. Or have a look on detailing world.

If you're after a dual action then you can't go far wrong with the DAS6-Pro, they don't offer the same correcting ability as a rotary polisher but are safer to use for someone with little experience of polishers (that's not to say they are 100% fool proof mind!)

Or you could go for the standard DAS6, a bit cheaper however I'd definitely recommend the pro.
