bugger me! anyone experienced this

my 6x9s the main cone has gone all creased, ribbed like and brittel, itouched it and my finger went straight through!

the main cone doesnt get used anyway cause theyre run on high pass, but still... how? why?

Ive heard of cases where the condensation that you see on the inside of the windows has got to the speaker cones and made them go brittle. I dont think its down to anything youve done wrong to be honest. It could be due to the hot weather or something causing a lt of condensation in the air which has warped the cones. Sounds like youve been having a bit too much back seat action..if you get my meaning...only joking...this is my guess anyway.
