charger is fine on stock internals though :S

only point of doing the internals is if you want more power or simply dont trust the engine not to go bang, which wont happen unless it's mapped to within an inch of its life.

The standard conversion is good for around 250bhp isn't it? Stronger engine, maybe lower comp pistons would mean it could take more boost pressure and produce more power. Nothing wrong with that! Even if it's simply for peace of mind once the charger is fitted I don't see why he shouldn't do it.

Stock engines may well take extra power on stock internals, but this doesnt account for condition and wear.
If his engines is worn, then obviosuly it would be advisable to rebuild it.

Chances are it isnt that bad, but if your thinking of long term power increases, i.e forged pistons etc etc, thn now would be the time so it can be mapped once for the already higher spec=cheaper innitially.

run with a stock engine first and in the meantime build yourself a stronger one, just an idea? if you blow up the std one then its no biggie if you have a spare in the wings

It's basically and if it blows up insurance policy! Just so I know I've got one ready. But the car is also on 100k+ so it may sooner go pop than it would if still being an N/A engine. I know I don't need to but it would be peace of mind the engine was set and in good condition!
