Bulkhead sound deadening removal

Hi guys,
So squirrelling away tidying under the bonnet on my 182. My car is still currently fitted with the factory sound deadening, it’s in decent condition, I just don’t really like the look of it. So plan on removing it, I even had a stroke of luck today whilst mooching around the local breakers year in finding a 1.2 8v Ph1 heat shield. Which I believe speaking with @DomP182 sorts the heat shielding neatly. Ideally I’d like to remove the sound deadening in one piece, so I can add to the pile of bits should I or a future owner want or need it. Has anyone managed this or am I just better to get out my old mate Stanley and have the s**t out of it (and likely anything hidden behind)

any advice anyone would like to share?
Thanks

Russ

Was that the red PH1 they have at buck lands? I forgot about the heat shield and I was picking over that the other day 🤦🏼‍♂️

For weeks I had been looking and checking for PH2 clios in there. They seem to be getting think on the ground now

There are 3 there currently mate. On diesel Dynamique, couple of low spec 1.2 16vs

I need to get back up there at some point as I forgot to look at the DCI to see if it had the same radiator brackets as the 182. Can’t seem to find the answer on google

Am in a similar position
My Phase 1 failed MOT yestday when the sound deadening around the bulkhead Caught Fire! (He was doing an emissions test... although he also mullered my jacking point requiring welding now))

Dont recall a heat shield ever being there- heat shield starts at the exhaust pipe right angle from the engine going back to the tailpipe,
Theres no heat shield on the vertical exhaust manifold- is there supposed to be?

MOT tester said it should be OK just to remove the sound deadening material. Does that cause any issue, either heating up parts behind the deadening, or noise?

No, but I’m not sure why it would be a problem. The heat shield I have replaced the felt version with is OEM fitment just from a lesser model.

Spose I am just paranoid. Just failed without one, and would prefer the right one for my retest

Where are the studs located?

There are 3 studs behind the felt bulkhead panel. They hold the plastic studs which keep the felt in place. I removed the felt and the heat sheild just attaches with heat shield ‘nuts’

Two different brackets I afraid

DCI has side mounted pegs on side of radiator.
