Bump strips

I have a mk2 ph2 clio and thinking about carbon wrapping the black bump strips along the door, could i lay the carbon straight on or would i have to smooth it off, i am thinking of buying M3 carbon vinyl so i can remove it if it looks s***e.

i think you would need to sand them smooth mate, if not they wont stick very well
