Bump Strips

  Valver Lookalike Mk1 Ph3

Just wondering - why does every1 on here colour code the bump strips instead of having them removed/smoothed?

If anything I would have thought not having plastic bits that fall off at the slightest knock on the side of your car would be a bonus to buyers. Gotta look smarter too.

Yeah sure, I meant apart from the cost.

Yeah I guess your right, do other cars have them? Cant say Ive ever noticed lol.

My mams Fiesta does not have them yet I see identical spec Fiestas that do have them.

My mams car has loads of minor scratches and marks though.

Personally, I like a proper black looking bump strip, really contrasting with the paint, looks good.

colour coding tends to look nicer than just plain balck strips etc, plus they still give the car protection against other car doors etc.
if they were smoothed they would offer no protection at all.
Plus removing them & smoothing costs more.

Well with the parts Im getting to repair my clio (black 16v wings/bonnet/bumper) looks like front half of the car will be black, and back half blue - so thinking of getting a black respray. Guess sidestrips wont exactly stand out then anyway.

a respray in black will cost more than having the new parts sprayed etc, plus are all of the new bits off of the same car ??
otherwise the paint may vary slightly in colour, even though they may be the same paint colour, they could be different shades.

If it was me id just get the new bits done to match the rest of the car.
