Bumper care

  a low one
ive been using different back to blacks for the door strips and bumpers which brings them up great untill it rains when im then left with streak marks all over the car. anyone know of any better products that may be water resistant? cheers

Funny enough, you've named on in the title. Auto Glym Bumper Care is a perfectly good product available from Halfords.

If you want to go slightly better, go online to I4Detailing/Cleanyourcar/Polished Bliss etc. Then you have products from Chem Guys, 303, Poorboys and a few others.

They all run in rain, But less if you buff them up after an hour or so. Same goes for tyres!

Not alot if you only use a drop of bumper care mind ^

Only thing I find with that stuff is that it needs an immense amount of shaking before I can use it as it liquidifies(sp).

I disagree.

I've used megs endurance on trims/scuttle before and it doesn't streak, it will if you just slap it on but rub it in and don't apply too much and it'll be sound.

It will give them the dark shine you want, but this won't last if your plastics aren't clean.

Take paint; you need to clean before you protect. So you clay, polish, protect. Same with plastics. Clean them with something like WD40/Linseed Oil (scrubb hard, requires elbow grease). Then wash with something like Meguirars All Purpose Cleaner (others available, including Tesco's Daisy CHEAP!). Then protect with something like the products listed above.

Megs endurance is about the worst for sling ever son! terrible stuff..that and everything sticks to it...

Blackfire is the best i've used...I won't change out.

Good advice Jamie, people slap dressing over dressing over dressing and wonder why it isn't working aswell as it should.

It's hard to sling off a scuttle panel and a tiny bit of mirror trim. No one said I used it on my tyres.

It's awesome stuff apparently. Stoddie used it on the porka. dirt just washes off it. No need to reapply for wks.

So is AG Bumper Care better than AG Vinyl & Rubber Care as the bottles read about the same for what they do??

Personally i use Black WOW! expensive little bottle, but lasts ages, ive had mine about 2 years and still got 1/4 left.

Personally i have never got on with AG Bumper Care/

Oh just to add another one in. A bit like WOW hasn't been released fully yet but I got a sample of it.

Valet pro Dionysus trim glitz. Very impressed so far!

So nice to use and you can just tell it works.

I'll check beading and running next time the rain is on, soon probably but I expect it to hold up well.

Won't touch C4 though!

Lol, nay bother.

AG Vinyl and Rubber care is to be used on just that, Vinyl and Rubber. Bumper Care is for use on plastic trim.

Oh and just to really confuddle you, AG Tyre Shine is the same chemical product as Vinyl and Rubber Care ;) So don't buy both!

If that's the case then the write up on the vinyl and rubber on i4detailing is a lie....

"Use on fascias, instrument panels, PVC door and seat facing, vinyl roofs, trim strips, door shuts, door seals, unpainted plastics, rubber, tyres and all similar areas."

Thanks for clearing that up and also answering my question on the other thread ;)

It's not really a lie buddy, it can be used for that. But it isn't the best product from the range.
