Number is straight from the website so I take its correct, lot's of people from here have gone to him and been very pleased with his service.
Ring him and ask, mention Burpspeed for good rates;)but as I said he can usually turn these around in a day as he has all the parts on the shelf.

Erm why would you want to do that? ^

Its nothing short of a massive job to do the box, you need the right tools, the time and the patience to do it. There are a few different methods, but general consensus is that if you have an engine hoist or access to one and you have the space, engine out is easier.

Check out this guide in the 'guides section' - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=258911

I know said car (BUP) and the previous owner. The previous owner had alot issues with his box and I believe he changed the box him self about a year ago. He posted all the details of it up on here.

yeah its harry manback's old motor, i've read up on its history but this isnt the box given up the ghost as such!
The bell housing has cracked and split where it bolts to the engine. The bolts are still in the block as is part of the bell housing, the split is approx 1cm ish wide!

Looks to me like the bottom 3 gearbox bolts were never put back, or not torqued up properly and have come loose and fallen out. Then its as if someone has lifted the end of the gearbox farthest from the engine and kept lifting till the alloy bellhousing has literally just torn leaving part still attached to the block with the remaining bolts. The gearbox has moved exposing the flywheel and about a cm away from the block at the bottom front edge of the box!

See crude pic below lol

Oh Dear mate!

Yes the box fastens to the bell housing using different size nuts bolts and washers and easy to mix up or loose them.

I guess if some bolts are missing the added stress on the rest of the casing has caused it to crack.

I know Harry had ALOT of trouble with this car but he also changed alot of parts on it so hopefully its running well now? It went cheap on ebay in the end didn't it? I know because I also bid on it! lol

I believe most garages will charge £250 to change the box so have a think about that to!
