burning smell

when im going on spirited drives and put my foot (really) down i can smell buring coming from some where. i dont think its the engine could it possibly be the cat? itsonly when i boot it though.

I was getting a burning smell only at the top of 4th gear, seemed to come through the vents... no idea what it was tho!

I had this a few years back, turned out to be a plastic bag melted to the exhaust!

I used to get that when i floored it, but since a drive to Wales it seems to have stopped. I think its where i only to town driving really and the car needs abit of a thrashing to clear it out. But im about as far away from a car expert as you can get.

it may be the heat sheilds behild the manifold??

ive seen a few smoke on the rolling road.

Possibly you may have oil on your exhaust, is your engine pretty clean??

Slight little bit on your manifold and when it gets extra hot you get a lovely burning smell

I get a burning smell when i get off the motorway, but i goes once i start moving.
