Buying a Cup.. Any tips?

  172 Cup
Hey guys, I'm going to be looking for a Cup to purchase in about a month. I've not owned a Clio before. So could you give me a quick run down on what to look out for on the 172 Cups or MK2's in general. Thanks a lot.

Check for crash damage as so many have have crashed
Check the car stears in a straight line and brakes the same.

Front wings never match the rest of the car particulty silver ones (some Cups came in silver and some with climate control)
They rattle a bit just the way you might get a good one.
Check for curbing damage as this affects the tracking.
Check for any splutters between rpm they kick at 4k or so due to the cams beicoming more effective and the ecu mapping but there should be any 6k stutter or 3k stutter.
Idle isn't good most notiable when cold them optimax helps though.
make sure its been serviced at 12k not the 18k some dealers try and convice people to be done at.

Lower it lol

on a serious note like said above check for crash damage as a lot of them have been smashed and check to see if the splitters still on it!

Excellent, thanks a lot guys. Looks like that link will come in handy. Can't wait til I get a Cup. Test drove one a few weeks back and loved it.. but some loser had put 5-spoke 17" wheels on it. God knows why. :)

Don't worry, I bloody love the Turinis. Don't know why anybody would want to change them, unless it's for the Trophy's :)
