Buying an Xbox 360

Looking to buy an Xbox 360 but have 2 quick questions. I've tried searching but to much stuff comes up.

1. What’s the difference between the elite and arcade? Which one is worth getting?

2. Where is the cheapest place to buy brand new? Can be online or in store.

1. Elite is the newer one and they sell them cheap now. Larger memory space etc.. Not sure what the Arcade is. Premium?

From what I can see online they don't do the premium anymore. I might be wrong though.

Arcade doesn't have a HD and doesn't come with HDMI cable.

Not only that, but I found the Elite was quieter than the Arcade and other boxes, and also seems to have better ventilation. It's also a much bigger HD although that could be rectified easily enough with the others.

Yeah the elite was supposed to be a lot quieter.
Plus white gets dirty easy in the rain.

So long as it is the Jasper chipset then it'll be quieter than the older models. All Elite's on sale now are Jaspers.

The newer Jasper models use less power and run cooler than the older 360s do.

It is noticeably quieter and definitely runs cooler than my old 360 and those belonging to friends who do not have the 65nm Jasper chipset.

If you bought a 360 within the last year then chances are it is a Jasper.

I got an elite on launch and didnt get the new chipset. I now have another elite I got a couple of weeks ago and its just as loud IMO.

The DVD Drive on the 360 remains very loud on all models, I install the game to HDD instead because of this.

elite doesnt come with hdmi either, Need to go and buy a hdmo cable, Worth it though
