Buying new tyres tomorrow

  2005 Clio 182
And need the best prices for either Nankang NS2-Rs or Michelin PS3s?

Size is 205/45/r16 87W.

Would anybody be willing to have a little scout for me? Best prices so far have been £60 for the NS2-r on Tyreleader. But obviously money is better when it's in your pocket and not somebody elses!

Thanks in advance ladies and gents :).

The Goodyear eagle f1 assyrmtric2 Is a better tyre grips amazing and lasts longer than michelins . Driving clio 1*2 for 10 years plus and never come across a better performance tyre . Anyone who says different obviously hasn't tried them

Michelin PS3's from Tyreleader were £72 each last time I looked in that size.

I always went for the GSDS3 F1's on my 172 and thought they were great too. fantastic grip in summer and rain....... BUT useless in the snow , only lasted 10k and oh my god the amount of stones that would get stuck in the tread and cause a clip clop noise when driving. ... arrrgh the memories of picking stones out every day!!

I've been using pirelli zeros and not tried another street tyre on the clio and I've been happy but I'm all ears if there's a better day to day tyre that's cheaper.
How do the Goodyear compare to them?
There's always a trade off with tyres on grip and wear etc.
Very interested to know the pros and cons.

Gsd tyre is not anything like the asymmetric2 I'm getting almost 20 k with hard driving .

I can only compare them with michelins and continentals but i drive my car very hard and the grip is fantastic and never had tyre last do long . I do 20k a year .
Not cheaper still 90-100 fitted

That's a cheap tyre in 16's. As a daily i wouldn't pick them, suggestions above are better. Will be trying these on track next year no doubt.

The good years would be amazing on the track .. It's the way they make car handle that's most impressive to me . Even in the wet never scared to push things

Nice cheers guys. Its a daily driver yeah, but I love to push it when I can - 9/10ths at weekends and all that. Think I'm going to go to Costco and get ps3s all round fitted and balanced. They have a £50 off Michelin deal which seems OK. Reckon I might be in for a bumming if I go fit and bal separate to purchase. (y)

All the premium tyres are good enough for the road. It's only when you start chucking a load of lock on at a warm track day that they call time.

So that's £368 for x4 PS3s, which isn't bad. About £90 a tyre fitting included. Gonna go tomorrow.
4x£72 is £288 from tyre leader, obviously got to get them fitted and wait a few days for them to arrive but cant argue with the saving.

Yeah , nice, how much can I expect to spend on fitting?
18 a wheel here at tyre places , you might find cheaper . Thing about buying and then getting someone to fit Is if there's any issues then garage don't want yo know as they didn't supply the tyres

Briv, funnily enough, that equals the price I'm paying. If I buy £72 tyres at Tyreleader, then £18 fitting per tyre, it equals the same as paying for the lot at Costco. It works out at £90 a tyre all in at Costco, so to get it done tomorrow is better than ordering, waiting, then finding somewhere to fit and not having anywhere to go if it goes Pete tong. Thanks for your help everyone though, much appreciated! :)

£90 for the w rated tyre or the v ? as there's difference on price obviously for a reason . I'd assume w being stiffer tyre

If speed rating is higher then surely the tyre has a different compound . To make a tyre capable of higher speeds it has to be stronger

Yeah hence why I'm happy with 368 for 4 all in. Not a terrible price and matches what I would have spent. Looking forward to some decent tread, I've only ever ran budgets.
