Buzzing coming from interior mirror

Just noticed that the interior mirror unit in my car (2004 182) is making a buzzing noise when the ignition is on. You can't hear it when the engine is running, so I took apart the unit. In there, there is a really small fan and its the fan blades that are causing the noise, I've cleaned it up but its still a bit noisy mainly as it vibrates.

One any ideas what the fan is for, and secondly any fixes for the noisy nature or cost for replacement.

Thought they did away with the fans in the 182's? My 172 had one, but the 182 just has a sensor thing.

Anyway, yeah, grease the fan up and it'll probs stop. It's for CC. Cheap to replace too.
