Bye bye 182.. Hello???

  182 has now gone!
After 6 years of ownership and 57000 miles myself and the Clio parted today. I bought the car when it was a year old with 9k on the clock, it has been a fab car and I admit I was a little sad to see it go..

The Miltek was removed and the standard exhaust and original reg put back on, and a quick clean at the weekend before it went today..

It has been exchanged for a Fiesta Zetec S TDCI.. I am doing a fair few miles and need something more economical. I used to own a Zetec S about 8 years ago and loved it.. My friend works for Ford and done me a very good deal and threw in some freebies, so here it is...

Such a good looking car. My GF has the older Mk6 facelift ZS and i think its a cracking motor tbh!

Is there a ST in the pipeline?

Thats a bit cack. They really look good with those wheels on :(

I'll have a look under some desks at work and see if there's any laying about for you ;)

On the basis that my seat is bolted in place I'm afraid I'm out.
I can't repeat what Tom said as the swear filter won't allow it. ;)

Them side skirts and splitter look pricey.
Risky drive if you plan to lower it lol.

The skirts and splitter are standard... Not going to bother with lowering it, will leave it as it is, dont think the skirts are that expensive as they can be added as an extra on the other models..

No its staying standard.. I have it on a 3 year option plan so if I decide to chop it in at the end no point paying to map it etc.. Plus it would affect the warranty.

ah right, whats the performance like standard? i used to have an old zs and always thought it handled really well, is it still the same story?

Yeah I had an X reg Zetec S a few years back now.. This one has sports suspension and it seems to handle well, I was getting 48mpg on the drive home but hopefully that will go up. Not sure what the petrol version is like mpg wise but presume handling/suspension is the same.

I admit it feels slower when pulling away compared to the Clio, but it goes ok, quite nippy and quiet compared to some diesels,

50+ mpg compared to 36 out of the clio... Plus £20 a year road tax and my car insurance has gone down.

Vs higher diesel costs + a new car cost!

Unless your doing moon miles i don't see the point! To mitigate the cost between the two and covering the hit on depreciation...

Don't open that can of worms Ali. Just nod, agree and say "ahh thats nice". Its called humoring!

It is such a nice looking car, it's a shame they don't do a fast version yet - anyone know if there are any in the pipeline?

Diesel performance is usually quite good in normal real world driving - e.g. accelerating at speed without having to drop down gears etc. There are lots of benefits to diesels too, I've been back and forth between economical diesels and petrol head mode. Sometimes you just fancy a change and it's nice having a new car that's quiet, you only have to fill up half the time, it's under warranty etc etc.

Nice car!

Blah blah blah... I am actually saving myself money compared to what I was paying monthly for the Clio, I wouldnt have done it otherwise.
