Caliper guide seized, loosened and greased but will it last?

In the ongoing saga that it is the mechanical overhall of the Silver 1.2 Trophy (or 172 as it's better known), as the third day draws ever nearer I have come across another little issue.

I was refitting the NSF caliper after replacing the discs and pads. I had already noticed that the wear on the pads was extremely biased towards one side but had dismissed this as a Renault grease monkey error. However, upon refitting the piston section of the caliper I realised that the upper guide was seized.

Having eventually removed the guide, cleaned it up with Plus Gas, removed any residual crap left in the channel in the caliper, greased with copper slip then rebuilt, everything seems fine. My only concern is that it doesn't move quite as freely as the other guide, it is still very loose but just doesn't have the same bounce.

Will this suffice or is it likely to commit suicide again?

Were your pads easy to fit? Replaced my front discs and pads 2 weeks ago! the n/s/f front inner pad was approx 50% more worn than the other 3.
I think it was down to the carrier seat's in need of a major clean/rust removal, once done fitted the new pads using Plastilube.

The pads were easy to fit mate, a bit of copper grease went a long, long way.

Not really. The only real issue I had was that under really heavy braking, stopping power was severley reduced and was accompanied by a metallic grinding noise which I now know was the metallic section of pad grinding on the disc.

Should never use copper grease on caliper slide pins (I assume thats what you're on about) it destroys the rubber.
