Hi,

Well yes i am thick and ignorant too.....;)

Basically only on one subject tho......(everything)

Anyway i have a category 2 immobiliser fitted to my clio.....and i want to upgrade to a full category 1 alarm system with immobiliser.....!!!

Do i need to get a full system or just an upgrade......and how would it affect the current central locking and keyfob.......i am soo confused.....i also need to have it fitted....(coz im thick):oops:

Any help out there.....????????????

I would think you would need to replace the current immobiliser, also I think (Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong) you have to get a professional to fit a Cat 1/2 alarm/immobiliser for it to be eligible for insurance discounts.

Pop down your local dealer they will supply a cat 1 upgrade for your car which will use your key to arm/disarm.

They are made by sigma or cobra, pretty good systems.

I might be able to get a part number for you if you need it.

So are the Renault dealer upgrades to a cat1 really "Good" systems.....i mean have any of you lot got one fitted...?

Do any of you know exactly what you get for £300 that a renault one would cost me....?
