Hi,

Well yes i am thick and ignorant too.....

Basically only on one subject tho......(everything)

Anyway i have a category 2 immobiliser fitted to my clio.....and i want to upgrade to a full category 1 alarm system with immobiliser.....!!!

Do i need to get a full system or just an upgrade......and how would it affect the current central locking and keyfob.......i am soo confused.....i also need to have it fitted....(coz im thick)

Any help out there.....????????????

I would think you would need to replace the current immobiliser, also I think (Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong) you have to get a professional to fit a Cat 1/2 alarm/immobiliser for it to be eligible for insurance discounts.

Pop down your local dealer they will supply a cat 1 upgrade for your car which will use your key to arm/disarm.

They are made by sigma or cobra, pretty good systems.

I might be able to get a part number for you if you need it.

So are the Renault dealer upgrades to a cat1 really "Good" systems.....i mean have any of you lot got one fitted...?

Do any of you know exactly what you get for £300 that a renault one would cost me....?
