Calling All Smooth Tailgates

Right. i want to fit a solinoid so i can electronicaly pop the boot from a switch inside the car.

How does it work. is it fitted to the lock and releases the lock or what. the car had central locking on remote. Can someone give me a rough explination of how it works? cheers

I think you need an xr2 door one as they are quite powerfull.

the solenoid operates the mechanism and pops the boot as if it was you pressing the button.

Most people wire it of the rear wiper stalk

Alright mate. Think i understand. Might go get one at the weekend and try figure it out. knowing me i would acidently press it whisle driving or something. Seeing as the car is off the road at the mo. might have a go wiring it up then get it smoothed when i get some money together.

dont hook it up to the rear wiper stalk coz if ur on the motorway and hit it ur a bit screwed!

i hooked mine up to a R5 window switch which hen was put next to the front fog light switch!

use the original central lockin solenoid and turn it around!

Simple as that! Essex is a bit of a drive for me.

I live next to heathrow airport. Yer i wont put it on there will have a switch or push button somewhere.
