OK! If i buy a new car and its due for a cambelt change how much will i be looking at. I know some guys who might do it at a garage on the cheap. But any sort of price range i can expect ?


Anything else i need to know.

well. lets say, a clio 1.6 16v 2003

Depends on spec a/c etc! will be quite dear, not sure what the cambelt kits retail at £150 roughly? plus aux belt, around 3.5 hrs to do from memory, and its £55 plus vat where i am so you will soon be in late 300-400 with the vat! depends where you go!

well you wont get it done at may legit garages cash in hand! me and a mate from work do a few, i have got all the tools, we charge £100 plus the bits for a 16V! little bit more if its a 172 with a bloody annoying aux belt! i get the cambelt kit, aux belt and plugs for the rear of the engine that you take out to time up for around £125 inclvat, so £225ish! reddies!

depends, i dont have the car yet but within like 5 months of having it it may need doing. worst thing is itll end up needing an MOT and Taxing around that time i think.
