Cambelt And What Else?

  It's A Reno
As a 53 plate my 172 is coming up for it's cambelt change.

AFAIK, when you have the cambelt changed, you have the auxilary belt changed too and all the tensioners, I think.

I thought I read somewhere that you can / do get the water pump changed at the same time due to the difficulty in getting to it.
Is this true?
An exact list of what to get done while they are in there would be really helpful.

Thanks.

BenR (Angelworks) stated never to have seen the waterpump in need of changing when doing the cambelt at 70k. Not neccescary ..
However a waterpump will only be 60 pounds or so ? I would/will change it. I think whengetting it done at Renault they autom. also change waterpump. Mine is up next week and i'm also having different cams put in there.

Cheers franx, I thought I'd read it somewhere.

I'm thinking of getting mine done at Birchdown as many seem to think they are good and also cheaper than Reno.
Shame it's such a trek tho. (70 miles)

Dont really need to change the tensioners on the aux belt either, they check them to see if they are in good order, then change them if needs be.

Going to angelworks tomrow to get my cam and aux belt changed.

390 inc vat for a 72 k service, aint bad is it :)

Picked up my car from Birchdown today. Top job, top price, top fellas. They'll be looking after my car from now on.

Yeah, I think I'll be taking it to Birchdown if they can fit me in.
I'll have to give them a call, but it's a long way to go.
