cambelt change, do they undo the mounts?

renault had my car for a couple of days to do the cambelt and aux belts but since i got it back i'm having the dreaded knocking noise under heavy accelaration, gotta be a mount, but do renault have to undo any of these to do the work, if so i can take it back and ask them to fix it, rather than pay myself,

yer.. look at the mount on the top left...see the 4 bolts?

undo they so there loose.....bar the engine so it pulled forward to the front of the car...dont ar it againt the ac pipes though!

then one the mount plate is pulled as far forward as poss.. bolt the 4 bolts down tight

Yeah they pretty much lift the entire left hand side of the engine out of the car

cheers guy's, so could i do this myself or should i just take it back to the dealer and tell them to sort it out?

take it to the dealer,, although they wont know how to fix it,, prob just try and sell u new mounts,...that fix i posted,,. may do it and takes about 10mins?

wow, thanks mate, just loosened the bolts on the top mount and pulled the engine forward by hand, and what do you know, all the knocking has gone, thanks for the help mate, just saved me alot of aggro from the missus for buying a car with a knocking noise, it did her head in, also would of cost me a small fortune at the dealer, gotta love sites like this for all the help,
if i ever see ya at a meet, be a drink in it for ya
