Cambelt change intervals

My cars done 20k miles since the Cambelt was last changed but that was in 2009 so will it need changing in 2014 I do 8k miles a year an change the oil every 6k would you change it then or every 72k any help would be appreciated

Read this, no one knows tbh, but most things printed, from Renault themselves say 5 years.

Yeah cos it's due on the 36k service, it's the only thing on it iirc?

Do renault even bloody know when to change it?? five years is a bit long i think i'd personally change it before hand lol.

Eh? If the belts were changed 2.5 years ago why would they need doing again this year? How much mileage have you done in the since they were last changed?

Need to check on miles since last belt change, probably around 32k

The car is a November 03, making it 10 year old later this year - 2nd belt change required going by 5 year rule? I'm confused lol

The belts need to be changed every 5 years because the belts start to perish and can fail. If they were only changed 2.5 years ago they won't need doing for another 2.5 years.

It sounds like the previous owner of yours had them changed late.

So to clarify, your belts will not need changing for another 2 and half years or until you do another 39k odd miles, whichever comes first.

On looking back, I had my belts done late 2008 so looks like my 5yrs is up this year.....ahh feck!
