Cambelt change on 2006 1.5DCi

My car is currently on 57k and I was planning on getting the cambelt done at around 60k for my own piece of mind.

I know its advisable to have a specialist do the belts on a 172/182, but what about the DCi?

Is this as complicated as on the 172/182 or would a local independant be able to do this job correctly.

Any special tools required for the DCi?

  dCi 65 + C2 (<Sold)
I got mine done @ 65k for £210 that's including all the kit, vat and fitting. No need for a specialist, but avoid Renault.

p.s make sure you get the kit, not just the belt!

You'll still need the locking pins for the cam and crank if its like a Nissan K9K, as it has a free wheeling crank. The Micra doesnt have to be changed until 100k, is this not the same on Clio?

Oh, I'm not sure TBH. Need to seek clarification on that.

If thats the case, then happy days

it's harder and more complicated on a mk3 than a mk2. Seen a lot of mk2 and mk3's done wrong though (mostly with regard to the tensioner). Worth going to someone who's done a lot of them. I was doing 2-3 a week at one point.

Locking tools are a lot simpler than F4, but still need to be used right

Tensioner needs to be worked anti clockwise then clock wise. Not alot of people know/do that.

The two locking pins are essential.
