cambelt on clio 172

hi all, im new to this forum as im thinking about buying a 172 facelift model, or a 172 cup. my first car was a saxo furio which ive had for 3 years, but i fancy a change so decided against upgrading to a vts.

im looking at clios that have done around the 60,000 mile mark as most of these fall in to my price range. i no something to look out for is wether they have had the cam belt done, but can someone tell me around what sort of mileage they usually need replacing? and is this the only major thing i need to look out for?

aux belt is 36k or 3 years

ok cheers mate. will be looking at one around the 2002 mark, so do you rekon it will be best to look for one thats had this done already?

Belts should be done on every 172 by now, I wouldnt touch one without them done not worth the hassle!

just reading your reply thinking wtf, then i thought are you trying to say k tec racing will change a cambelt for £350? lol
