Cambelt Service? help and advice

Hi All,

first off, great community and some awesome clio's

I've just got my hands a 2004 182 that has only done 39k. however it is overdue its cambelt and possibly its Aux belt service.

So 2 questions,

What would you recommend be changed? just the belts?

also if anyone in the west mids (stafford to be precise) could recommend me somewhere to get this done it would be much appreciated.

Birchdown just outside whitchurch are good, it will need full cambelt kit, and full Aux kit.

Get both cam and aux belts changed along with the pulleys. Fred at BTM Performance is not far from you in Birmingham and I can personally recommend his work as will many others on the forum. Charges £425 for a full belt change using non renault parts. Check out his page in the trader section.

For the price mate of part, I'd change waterpump as well personally. Might as well while everything is off..

As others - you're close to Birchdown in Stafford - approx 40miles each way. Well worth it, or there's Fred @ BTM.

Dephaser pully seems to be prone to failure. Having paid for a cambelt change on mine last year and now less than 12 months later needing to change both belts and have the car apart again thanks to a failed dephaser I'd recommend having it done while the car is apart and belts are off.
