I hear a lot of you speaking about changing the cambelt at 60,000miles on your 172's. Is this the same for a 1.2??

What are the symptoms that the cambelt needs changing??

The only symptom will be a new engine if it snaps - it gives you no indication its going to.....it will just go. Personally i would do it every 50k or 3 yr whichever comes first. I would also do the auxilary belt to

mine snapped at 57k and nearly 5 years on my 1.6.

so get it done before it goes trust me

Different engine take different amount of times to do.
