camera straps

hi all,
after a few years with a smaller canon dslr i have taken the plunge and upgraded to a nikon which is currently partnered to a 18-140 lens. After a day at autosport international using the nikon camera strap i ended up with terrible back pain due to the pressure it has put on my neck and slung around my shoulder i found its too short to be practical, i understand that the lense has a fair amount of weight but the body is no feather, so my question to you all is what straps do you use and how have you found them?
thanks james

I've got one of these

I don't use the plate though for it, I clip it onto the tripod attachment as i think it gives a better position plus it stops the metal clip scratching the camera ( I used it as should for a while and that happened to my old camera)

The stitching is a bit dubious, I've had to get the wife to sew the padded part again as its come undone and it takes a while getting it to a good position.

Cheap though and much better than a standard strap.

i found my neck was a bit aching for long periods with the strap round my neck. Did a bit of research and found out about Neoprene strap. I got one off amazon, it's quit springy which helps your neck and bounces a little when you walk, You can adjust the lenth of the strap and the ends are a clip on so you can unclip the strap from the body if you want.
