Cams Advice

I am looking into some engine modifications now that I have my exhaust system and induction sorted. I have seen the prices vary form £700 to £1700. All I would like to know is what sort of cams should I go for as my car is my daily runner and also who could fit them as a package?

I don't know whether to go for cams or the JMS intake mani?

What do you guys think?

JMS manifold will cost about the same all in, fitted etc and will get you better gains and probably significantly better gains in low/mid range torque aka driveability. Cams tend to move everything up the rev range.

JMS has many many pros and very few cons!

Totally depends on the cams.

Ktec used to do a package deal with 428's for 1200 iirc ?

Can you get cams for the 172/182 that don't push power up the rev range, I don't know any.

Do you know some that will regularly get you high 190s on std inlet? Again I don't know of any.

I've got 428s and am very happy with them! Although they are fitted to a car that is mostly used for track days, so it is always at the higher RPM, but its really transformed the car.

At Combe on saturday I out dragged a 260bhp Astra SRI! Quite impressive I thought!
