Cams on a valver - A few Questions

What kinda difference will they make without headwork, chip or PBV?

good price fitted, might not notice that much difference with just the cams, ideally u want verniers, headwork and a proper map to see decent results

Is that including pulleys?

Youll need a chip to go with them really, the point of cams is to hold the valves open longer, the chip will ensure you get the right air/fuel mixture.

At the very least youll need a professionally set up boost valve to give you the extra fueling.

Correct me if Im wrong any one.

you deffinately want the vernier pulleys aswell !! And the timing all set up proffesionally aswell as a chip !! sell the 17s to fund the headwork !!

I would sell the 17s if i had phs1s but i hate phs2s with a passion!

Headwork, cams and a chip will in total come to over £1400! Much more than i have at the mo!

The phase 2s arent that bad and the turbines can be had for pennies !!

Cams and vernier pulleys should be about £500 fitted and a chip will be £200 ish !! Thats your £700 then the BenR headwork can be bought on the sale of the 17s and the phase 2s !! (plus the purchase of turbines)

You will be looking at a fairly rapid valver that will be pushing a fair amount of power !!

iv got cams, verniers, headwork, manifold.

still not got round to chipping it, adjusting the PBV, or timing cams up properly. its lumpy as fuk!

No offense but I bet it sounds waft at the moment?

It cant be doing the car any good with the wrong fueling?

If you got that chipped up properly I reckon youd be grinning for days.

it sounds lumpy on idle, but other than that its fine. Always produces nice power on the rollers, and the power curve seems good.

Definately needs chipping though. just expensive for a unichip which is what im after. u can see the usual 4.5k kick on the printout below. my scanners bust so thats with the phone

Sounds a good price as cambelt change is circa £130 plus VAT so not paying much more for the cams and would be healthy for many miles to come. Then top off with a chip to help everything and have fun.

if u want some cheap cams and verniers Bondy on here can sort you out at a decent price. I got mine from him and he had them to me within a week.
