camshaft specs

camshaft specs can any one supply me with the duration and lift figures for the standard 1.8 and 2.0 inlet and exhaust cams for the valver motors

lol, they arent published.

All i possibly have are IO/IC/EO/EC timing figures and lift which i would have to work them out from. First ill have to find them, still, i doubt i have the figures.

renault publish valve timing figures but ive never seen any values for lift before.unless you were a firm trying to produce performance cams(they probably just meassure it to find out anyway) why would you want to know

if you know that then you know the duration that the vaves are open per 1 complete turn(in degrees anyway).you cant say a time because it would change with engine revs

what compressor and psi are you running as EC 20deg ATDC is late and your opening the inlet very early!, thats alot of overlap to be running for a turbo application. Gonna have lots of flow reversal, depending on compressor matching. That profile is along the lines of NA tuning.

Typically i would of started with -20/60/60/0.......but thats with a higer exhaust port pressure than inlet. No idea on your engine spec.

BTW, cant find the std cam profiles.

eh, sorry, you lost me with what your trying to point out.

Aint he talking about his turbo cam profile idea?

And the timing would change with rpm?

thanks for looking spoke to piper this morning and they are going to develope a profile for me. let you know how it works.

see what they say i can get all blanks ground to any spec and can garuntee to beat there prices pm me thanks bondy

man, i was getting interested, go on, spill the beans on what your running and what your planning to run!

what? cam durations are stated in degrees. unless its variable valve timing your cam timing doesnt change its mechanically fixed how can it possibly change(only your injection and/or ignition would change).

Thats where you lost me!!!!!

Of course it cant change, but you said "you cant say a time because it would change with engine revs "

man your sentances are confusing sometimes.
